Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Statistics shows that the State of Florida boasts a population on eighteen million people. The population health is paramount and health insurance plans are always in place and the state has time and again advised her people on the importance of having a Health Insurance policy. Despite all the efforts there are still about four million people who do not have a health Insurance policy with them.

With the state laws giving companies offering the Florida health insurance plans the freedom to vet and decide whether to enroll or reject applicants whom they feel that they have a bad health history and they pose a risk to the insurance firm if insured. Premium rates are always based on different factors like age; if the person has some conditions here the premium might go up compared to another person of the same age and without any condition. Other factors that are considered are maybe level of covers.

Sometimes health insurance firms tend to cancel policies of individually indefinitely especially when they learn that the client has been admitted. The Florida state has laws in place that prohibits companies from cancelling coverage in case the insured falls sick or succumbs to injury. This will be a great weapon for the Florida health firms that were intending to deny the Brevard County residence the right to compensation in case to sickness or injury.

In Health Insurance there are different types of plans. This always has influence when it comes to premium. Examples of Florida health insurance plans are Group plans, Individual plans and plans that are funded by the state of Florida. In most case Group plans are usually associated with companies. They insure their employees as a company and incase one of the employee is terminated from his current work place and the company had insured him/her, then Florida COBRA laws allows the employee to keep the insurance cover for eighteen months after the termination so long as the premium were fully paid. With group plans all members under that particular group have one and the same level of cover plan. Others like individual plans are taken by one person and it usually covers the spouse and children. As opposed to the group plan, individual Florida health insurance plan allows the applicant to choose from a pool of options like the frequency of payment, the amount deductible, the copayment amount, the type of level and the amount. Different levels attract different amount of premium payable. They will have the option to choose based on their budget limits.
The third Florida health insurance plan is the Florida state funded. There are two options here, the Medicaid and Florida kid care. The Florida kid care is mainly designed to help the needy children at a normal price which is basically affordable to them at approximately fifteen to twenty dollars per month.

In conclusion, I will say let us advocate for health as the old saying goes, Health is Wealth.
